Constructed from four different azure tones of soft and velvety nubuck leather and hand-sewn with the finest craftsmanship, the "Ross Island" Jib Shadow boat shoe moccasins are engineered to be timeless pieces of nautical footwear. This pair of long-lasting, low cut, intrepid shoes are named for a tiny island off the central coast of Maine—an island whose rocky coastline resembles the unique pattern forms of Nubuck leather used to make this shoe's collar. It calls to mind the rugged, but playful patchwork of materials—from mended flags to homemade lobster buoys—and the yankee ingenuity that keeps them together that are such a big part of life on the coast of Maine.
Born from the discovery of an historic original design retrieved from the storied Sebago archives in Maine, and following the traditionally made pattern, this classic boat shoe features a snug leather sock lining, 360° rawhide lace system, and as mentioned, a collar made with a peculiar combination of smaller leather cuts. Not to mention the non-marking, anti-slip, siped rubber soles that offer a reliable grip in all weather conditions.
